Description
The high-level 2025 United Nations Conference to Support the Implementation of Sustainable Development Goal 14: Conserve and sustainably use the oceans, seas and marine resources for sustainable development (the 2025 UN Ocean Conference) will be co-hosted by France and Costa Rica and held in Nice, France, from 9 – 13 June 2025.
Under the overarching theme “Accelerating action and mobilizing all actors to conserve and sustainably use the ocean”, it will engage governments, the United Nations system, intergovernmental organizations, international financial institutions, other interested international bodies, NGOs, the scientific and technological community, the private sector, philanthropic organizations, Indigenous Peoples and local communities and other actors.
CCB at UNOC 2025
During the Conference, Coalition Clean Baltic (CCB) will co-organize the following side events:
• 06 June 2025, 10:00-12:00 CET (online) - Green Recovery for Ukraine: from source to sea/sink (event page)
• 11 June 2025, 11:30-13:00 CEST (in person) – Quiet Seas in a Climate Transition: Aligning decarbonisation with Ocean Health (event page)
CCB will also participate in and contribute to the following side-events:
• 10 June 2025, 13:00-15:00 CEST – MUD MATTERS – Tapping the Ocean Floor for Climate Solutions (event page)
• 11 June 2025, 09:15-11:00 CEST – The sea knows no borders: transboundary protection for a thriving Baltic (event page)
• 11 June 2025, 18:00-20:00 CEST – No Time to Waste: Tackling Submerged Munitions in European Seas, Onboard RV “Meteor”
