Description
The 3rd meeting of the Joint Special Group n support of the implementation of the EU Action Plan to conserve fisheries resources and to protect marine ecosystems took place on June 30 2025.
The aim of the joint special group is to facilitate knowledge sharing and dialogue between fisheries and environmental communities through sharing best practices, coordinated work, results and experience.
EU Action Plan: Protecting and restoring marine ecosystems for sustainable and resilient fisheries The Group is jointly lead by DG MARE and DG ENV and the meeting focused on the commission's and the member state's work on implementing the plan and links to the MSFD and the NRR. CCB gave a intervention when NGOs and other stakeholder were invited to speak and talked about the importence to fully implement the plan and especially to look at the goals for the eel and how we need to act to conserve and restore the species, since this species is often overlooked.
