Description
On Sunday, 18 May 2025, we will celebrate the International Day of the Baltic Harbour Porpoise* at the Baltic Sea Science Center in Stockholm!
CCB is organising an art workshop where children can help create a colourful harbour porpoise banner by colouring in a life-sized drawing of the animal!
This activity will be held in collaboration with Young Voices for the Baltic Sea who raise awareness and hope for environmental management and fishing in the Baltic Sea. There will also be a selection of short films in the movie room to raise awareness about harbour porpoises.
*The third Sunday in May of each year was declared by UNEP/ASCOBANS as the “International Day of the Baltic Harbour Porpoise” in order to raise awareness of the critical situation of the harbour porpoise, the only whale resident in the Baltic Sea.
With only a few hundred animals, the Baltic harbour porpoise is critically endangered, and urgent measures are needed to save the population.
