Description
The PROTECT BALTIC Annual Meeting was held in Helsinki from 3-5 September 2024. The meeting was an excellent opportunity for collaboration and planning for the second year of the project.
All relevant experts taking part in the work of PROTECT BALTIC were invited to join the meeting.
CCB participants in the meeting
- Mikhail Durkin, CCB Executive Secretary
- Estefania Cortez, CCB Legal Expert
Outcomes of the event
CCB organised the workshop on “What is an MPA” for all the project partners. An article about the workshop has been published after the event.
The workshop aimed to allow partners to explore how international agreements and regional collaborations enhance the effectiveness of MPAs. Their insights helped shed light on the complexities of marine conservation and the pivotal role that PROTECT BALTIC can play in fostering a healthier and more sustainable Baltic Sea. We compiled all the partners' thoughts and ideas and included them in the next steps of the deliverables of WP7.
