What is HELCOM? The Baltic Marine Environment Protection Commission – also known as the Helsinki Commission (HELCOM) – is an intergovernmental organization (IGO) and a regional sea convention in the Baltic Sea area. HELCOM was established about four decades ago to protect the marine environment of the Baltic Sea from all sources of pollution through intergovernmental cooperation. The HELCOM Secretariat is located in Helsinki, Finland. To know more about it.

Description

The 10th Meeting of the HELCOM Working Group on Reduction of Pressures from the Baltic Sea Catchment Area (PRESSURE 10-2019) was hosted by the Ministry of the Environment of Estonia in Tallinn on 9-12 April 2019.

Mikhail Durkin, CCB Executive Secretary, attended the meeting and presented the proposal to update HELCOM Recommendation 23-5.
