What is ASCOBANS?
ASCOBANS was concluded in 1991 as the Agreement on the Conservation of Small Cetaceans of the Baltic and North Seas (ASCOBANS) under the auspices of the Convention on Migratory Species (CMS or Bonn Convention) and entered into force in 1994. To know more about it.
Description
The LIFE Awards recognise the most innovative, inspirational and effective LIFE projects in the fields of nature protection, environment and climate action.
From 62 finalists, nine most outstanding projects have been awarded the title “Best LIFE project” at the ceremony that was held in Bruxelles on 23 May. The winners include environment projects from Italy, Spain and Poland, nature projects from Belgium, Greece, and Slovakia, and climate action projects from Spain (two projects) and Austria.
The SAMBAH project was nominated as one of the 62 best LIFE project and the CCB Biodiversity and Nature Conservation Officer, who also works in this project and is the chair of the ASCOBANS Jastarnia Group, took part in the LIFE Awards celebration in Bruxelles.
