What is HELCOM?
The Baltic Marine Environment Protection Commission – also known as the Helsinki Commission (HELCOM) – is an intergovernmental organization (IGO) and a regional sea convention in the Baltic Sea area. HELCOM was established about four decades ago to protect the marine environment of the Baltic Sea from all sources of pollution through intergovernmental cooperation. The HELCOM Secretariat is located in Helsinki, Finland. To know more about it.
Description
The Eighth Meeting of the HELCOM Expert Group on Monitoring of Radioactive Substances in the Baltic Sea (HELCOM MORS EG 8-2018) was held in accordance with the decision by HELCOM MORS EG 7-2017.
The Meeting took place at the premises of the Institute of Meteorology and Water Management – National Research Institute (ul Podleśna 61, 01-673 Warsaw) on 29-31 May 2018. The Meeting started on Tuesday, 29 May 2018 at 12 a.m., and ended on Thursday, 31 May 2018 at 1 p.m.
The Meeting was chaired by Ms. Tamara Zalewska, Poland, Chair of the Group.
