Organisational Development and Capacity Building

CCB marked its 30th Anniversary in 2020!

Given the implications of Covid-19 outbreak for all countries including restrictions on travel and safety of all participants as primary concern, the CCB Board decided to postpone the celebrations.

Nevertheless, since the main theme of the Annual Conference was climate change, we decided to organize the webinar “Climate change and the Baltic Sea catchment” in May 2020.

Moreover, national side events contributing to CCB 30th Anniversary were organized by some Member Organizations during the year.

Webinar "Climate change and the Baltic Sea catchment"

Climate change was the main theme of CCB Annual Conference in 2020 and for this reason we organized the webinar "Climate change and the Baltic Sea catchment".

Since we are integrating climate awareness into all topical areas, the aim of the webinar was to share, reflect upon, consolidate, and learn from our collective experience. At the same time, we looked for those threads most relevant to pursue in campaign work for the next two years. The webinar focused on 5 areas with 5 different main speakers for each one:

  • science
  • youth & action
  • health
  • finance
  • communication & campaigning

The official language was English and the online event was held in Zoom and promoted in CCB's social media channels.

Improve organizational structure

In May 2020, a new Financial Manager was hired to improve and manage the CCB 's administrative and financial management routines.

CCB Board has also approved Project Management Guidelines to be applied to all CCB’s project applications and reporting by MOs in 2020. The Guidelines aim to guide CCB MOs on how to submit an application for funding through CCB and how to report outcomes of any such project.

Moreover, the Guide for Sustainable Event Management has been published and shared within the network to limit our own environmental footprint.

During 2020, CCB core staff has attended different thematic trainings:
