Description
The joint hybrid side event "Waves of changes - Accelerating action and finance to save the Baltic Sea" was organized by Coalition Clean Baltic and WWF on Wednesday 24 April 2024, 15-16:30 EET (Riga & Online) - back-to-back to the HELCOM Ministerial Meeting and the HELCOM 50th Anniversary
which took place on 25 April 2024 in Riga.
The HELCOM HOLAS 3 report reaffirms the poor health of the Baltic Sea. Nevertheless, a glimmer of hope persists.
Bringing back a healthy Baltic Sea means funds and resources must be mobilized. To speed up these efforts our finance system needs also to transform to align investments with nature-positive principles and priorities, but how could this be done?
Anticipating the HELCOM Ministerial debate, the engaging panel discussion answered this question – what it takes to speed up the implementation and financing of the Baltic Sea Action Plan (BSAP) and explore solutions for a healthy Baltic Sea.
