What is ASCOBANS?
ASCOBANS was concluded in 1991 as the Agreement on the Conservation of Small Cetaceans of the Baltic and North Seas (ASCOBANS) under the auspices of the Convention on Migratory Species (CMS or Bonn Convention) and entered into force in 1994. To know more about it.
Description
The 20th Meeting of the ASCOBANS Jastarnia Group will take place in Zandvoort from 13 to 15 March 2024.
In its annual meetings, the Steering Group for the ASCOBANS Recovery Plan for Baltic Harbour Porpoises (Jastarnia Plan) and the Conservation Plan for the Harbour Porpoise Population in the Western Baltic, the Belt Sea and the Kattegat (Western Baltic Conservation Plan) - the Jastarnia Group - will review progress under the action plans, learn about complementary initiatives, and aim to move implementation forward.

Representatives of all states bordering the Baltic Sea, Baltic Sea environmental NGOs, and Baltic Sea fisheries organizations may participate in the meeting.
