What is ASCOBANS? ASCOBANS was concluded in 1991 as the Agreement on the Conservation of Small Cetaceans of the Baltic and North Seas (ASCOBANS) under the auspices of the Convention on Migratory Species (CMS or Bonn Convention) and entered into force in 1994. To know more about it.

Description

The Swedish Agency for Marine and Water Management kindly hosted the 18th Meeting of the ASCOBANS Jastarnia Group from 28 to 30 March 2022 in Gothenburg, Sweden.

In its annual meetings, the Steering Group for the ASCOBANS Recovery Plan for Baltic Harbour Porpoises (Jastarnia Plan) and the Conservation Plan for the Harbour Porpoise Population in the Western Baltic, the Belt Sea and the Kattegat (WBBK Plan) reviewed progress under the action plans, learned about complementary initiatives, and aimed to move implementation forward.
