What is HELCOM? The Baltic Marine Environment Protection Commission – also known as the Helsinki Commission (HELCOM) – is an intergovernmental organization (IGO) and a regional sea convention in the Baltic Sea area. HELCOM was established about four decades ago to protect the marine environment of the Baltic Sea from all sources of pollution through intergovernmental cooperation. Description

The HELCOM Stakeholder Conference on the update of the Baltic Sea Action Plan took place in the Marina Congress Center on Tuesday, 3 March 2020, preceding the HELCOM 41-2020 meeting.

CCB attended the Conference with representatives from the International Secretariat and Member Organizations and presented with WWF Baltic Ecoregion Programme a joint "Shadow Plan" - NGOs recommended actions across all themes of the current BSAP to be considered by the Contracting Parties of HELCOM.
