What is HELCOM? The Baltic Marine Environment Protection Commission – also known as the Helsinki Commission (HELCOM) – is an intergovernmental organization (IGO) and a regional sea convention in the Baltic Sea area. HELCOM was established about four decades ago to protect the marine environment of the Baltic Sea from all sources of pollution through intergovernmental cooperation. The HELCOM Secretariat is located in Helsinki, Finland. To know more about it.

Description

From the 13.10.2020 to the 16.10.2020 was held online the 13th Meeting of the Working Group on Reduction of Pressures from the Baltic Sea Catchment Area.

Eugeniy Lonabov who works for the Center for Environmental Solutions, Bettina Taylor from BUND and Agnieszka Fiszka Borzyszkowska from The Polish Ecological Club (PKE) participated to the event on behalf of CCB. Mikhail Durkin CCB’s Executive Secretary also took part in the meeting.
