What is HELCOM? The Baltic Marine Environment Protection Commission – also known as the Helsinki Commission (HELCOM) – is an intergovernmental organization (IGO) and a regional sea convention in the Baltic Sea area. HELCOM was established about four decades ago to protect the marine environment of the Baltic Sea from all sources of pollution through intergovernmental cooperation. The HELCOM Secretariat is located in Helsinki, Finland. To know more about it.

Description

The 19th Meeting of the Maritime Working Group was hosted by the European Union on 23-26 September 2019 in Lisbon, Portugal, at the premises of the European Maritime Safety Agency (EMSA) (address: Praça Europa 4, Cais do Sodré, 1249-206 Lisbon).

The Meeting started on Monday, 23 September 2019, at 10:00 and ended at 14:00 on Thursday, 26 September 2019. The first day of the Meeting (23 September) was reserved for a dedicated session on the update of the HELCOM Baltic Sea Action Plan.

CCB attended remotely and presented the report "Concept Best Available Technologies & Techniques: Bulk Fertilizer Handling". The meeting document is available here.
