What is HELCOM? The Baltic Marine Environment Protection Commission – also known as the Helsinki Commission (HELCOM) – is an intergovernmental organization (IGO) and a regional sea convention in the Baltic Sea area. HELCOM was established about four decades ago to protect the marine environment of the Baltic Sea from all sources of pollution through intergovernmental cooperation. The HELCOM Secretariat is located in Helsinki, Finland. To know more about it.

Description

The 10th Meeting of the Working Group on the State of the Environment and Nature Conservation, (STATE & CONSERVATION 10-2019) was convened in Hamina, Finland, on 6-10 May 2019.

The Meeting started on Monday 6 May 2019 at 10.00 and ended on Friday 10 May 2019 at 14.30. Monday to Tuesday 10.30 was planned for issues related to Monitoring and Assessment. Tuesday 11.00 to Thursday 12.00 was dedicated to Joint themes, and Thursday 13.00 until the end of the meeting on Friday was dedicated to Biodiversity and Nature conservation.
