Short-term goals
• To promote the use of ecotechnology measures as sustainable and often cost-effective solutions to reduce the load of nutrients (and to support biodiversity and a high degree of recycling of nutrients, and to save water and energy resources).
• To promote ecologically sustainable solutions for sewage treatment, as an alternative to conventional wastewater treatment.

Activities
• Produce, distribute and expose information material on sustainable
wastewater treatment in the Baltic Sea region and organise meetings and training seminars for awareness raising.
• Support development of management practices and demonstration areas for sustainable wastewater treatment
• Support studies and installations of ecotechnological concepts for waste water treatment, as good examples of sustainable water management.
• Advertise existing wastewater treatment plants using ecotechnology in the Baltic Sea region.
• Lobby Baltic Region governments and EC to support the application of sustainable wastewater treatment systems
