Estonian Green Movement
Supposedly in all Baltic
States only the projects, started in 2003 or earlier will be
carried on. There were no extra funds for new titles.
In Estonia
the main attention will be drawn to the counties, adjacent to the Pärnu
River. A joint action of the
students of five educational establishments from three counties will be going
on. The subject matter will be related to the research
work at the Pärnu River
as one of the habitats of natural Salmon. Main activities will be field
investigations, seminars, lectures, camps, information sharing via e-mail and
websites. The resulting goal should be a travelling exhibition of the gathered
material. This project is closely related to the
ongoing process of compiling the water management plan of the hydrographic
basin.
Additionally there
is a plan to publish a book (ca 40 ppg), that will introduce all migratory
fish species of the Estonian rivers.
A subsequent information material by SwedEnviro about
planning new small scale urban settlements, using
sustainable waste-water treatment methods will be translated and published.
In the international scale we are
asked to participate in a project opposing small hydropower stations on the Nemunas
River.
