Good news from Russia

"ALUMINUM JINN" - Green World video film received the First Prise on 7-th Russian Festival of Environmental Films. The authors of the video: Gennady Shabarin, Oleg Bodrov, Elena Makeeva, NGO GREEN WORLD.
It was October 7 in St. Petersburg.

This video about new harmful installations - Russian -American Sosnovy Bor's Aluminum Plant on the south shore of the Gulf of Finland near Kurgalskyn Peninsula -Ramsar Area. Green World and other NGOs used the video like a basis for information campaign against Aluminum plant.

It will be the biggest air pollutant in the region IF it will be constructed
(20.000 tones/year).

Aluminum investors informed that they are ready to invest $400.000.000 for the reconstraction and prolongation the time of life the oldest Chernobyl type reactor on Leningrad NPP.

We have chance to stop Aluminum project ($1.200.000.000).
Decembers 7, 2003 will be the first environmental referendum in Sosnovy Bor history. The referendum about to be or not to be the "Sosnovy Bor Aluminum Plant" near the Ust-Luga Harbor.
