ECOLOGISTS PROTEST AGAINST DANGEROUS PESTICIDES DISPOSAL PLACE
TODAY, July 29th international environmental camp "Clean Dvina – Clean Baltic 2005" has started in the surroundings of Novopolotsk, Belarus situated on Western Dvina river.

Camp participants, activists of environmental NGOs from different countries protest against authorities' inertness towards place of pesticides' disposal and undersign harmful impact of this disposal on the ecosystem of Western Dvina and Baltic Sea. Camp is organized as a part of Coalition Clean Baltic joint efforts to protect Baltic Sea environment.

ENVIRONMENTALISTS IN BELARUS CALL FOR JOINED EFFORTS TO SOLVE PESTICIDES DISPOSAL' PROBLEMS
And address Belarusian and Latvian ministers of environment directly

TODAY, August 4 th , on the press-conference in Vitebsk (Belarus) appeal to ministers of environment of Belarus and Latvia was released by organizers of the camp “Clean Dvina – Clean Baltic-2005”. Authors of the appeal call for creation of the working group on national level to solve problems of the pesticides' disposal site near Verhnedvinsk town on the river Western Dvina. Work of the group should result in action plan for urgent reequipment of the disposal site.
