General Meeting and Annual Conference

 

We now have the pleasure to invite you to Ukraine to the CCB Baltic 06 Conference and the 15 th CCB General Meeting!
This year the CCB Baltic Conference and General Meeting will be held in Lviv, Ukraine. The programme starts on Friday afternoon/evening 19 May and ends on Sunday 21 May.

"Transboundary river cooperation in the Baltic Sea basin"
is the theme for this year Conference, which will be divided into two sub topics;
1) transboundary river cooperation and 2) sustainble agriculture.
Several interesting speeches on the topic will be held and CCB activities carried out within this field will be presented.

Working Group Discussions on CCB Priority Areas
During Saturday afternoon working groups will have in-depth discussions about CCB priority sub-areas. These discussions will be the base for CCB Work programme 2007. Lead parties will be responsible for preparation of the agenda and facilitation of the discussions in the Working Groups.

Posters Presentations
All participants are welcome to present their work connected to the theme of the Conference on a poster (~ 1m 2 ) Also posters presenting other work that is done within the CCB Member organisations connected to CCB Priority Areas are mostly welcome. We need to know in advance how many posters there will be, so please inform CCB secretariat on your registration form if you will bring a poster.

Language
The working language of the Conference will be English. An interpreter will be available for translating into Ukrainian language.

General Meeting and Excursion
The General meeting will be held on Sunday morning. On Sunday afternoon an excursion connected to the theme of the Conference will be arranged. More information on the excursion will be provided later.

Conference Venue
The Conference and accomodation will be held in the Hotel "Uzlissia" which is located outside Lviv in nice surroundings with e.g. a lake, beach and forest.
Transport will be arranged to bring the participants from Lviv to the Conference Venue. The exact time and place for the departure will be announced later, directly to the confirmed registered participants, together with other practical information.
Reimbursement of Expenses
CCB will cover the costs for accommodation and meals for all participants from CCB member organizations and associated partners.
We urge member organizations to cover the travel expenses for their participants. The travel expenses for participants from Russia, Ukraine and Belarus will be covered from Sida-funding. The reimbursement will be paid for the non-expensive and convenient way of travelling.
Please note that you have to state your requested, total amount for travel reimbursement (SEK/EURO), local transport included, at the application form. To keep the budget-line for the Baltic 06 conference CCB can only guarantee that you will get the amount that you have stated in the application form.

Travelling to/from Ukraine
All participants should contact the CCB Board Member from their respective country for coordination and information on most suitable mean of the travel. Then all participants shall book their travels by themselves – if no other information is given.

For participants from Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania their will be a big common CCB bus (with approx. two seats for each participant) arranged that is planned to start in Riga on Thursday 18 May early evening and e.g. make a stop in Vilnius in late evening on the same day. From Vilnius to Lviv it takes about 12 hours. Arrival in Lviv on early afternoon on Friday 19 May. Best connections for Kaliningrad participants will be checked on, one solution could be to take the train to Vilnius and there to join the CCB common bus. More detailed information will be provided.

Fill in the registration form and send it by fax or e-mail to Eva Frössling at the CCB International Secretariat (secretariat@ccb.se). Latest date: April 19!
Please note that we only have room for a limited number of participants. On 21 April we will confirm to all applicants on their possible participation in the Conference, so do not book your ticket before you have got your participation confirmed by the CCB International Secretariat!

The number of people that can participate in the Baltic 06 Conference and General Meeting will depend on the budget allocated for this event.
The information on the CCB Baltic 06 Conference will also be available at the CCB homepage (www.ccb.se).

Visa application
For those of you who need VISA please contact World Lab in Ukraine and send them your passport data, so that they can arrange the invitation for VISA for you. It can take a long time for the visas to be arranged, so this needs to be accomplished as soon as possible.
