Background
The state of the Baltic Sea requires concerted action. Eutrophication is one of the threats that has to be tackled and it is an important area for further cooperation. The linkage between action on land and effects at sea needs further recognition. The background for the High Level Political Meeting is to improve cooperation in order to reduce the eutrohication of the Baltic Sea.
Present in Saltsjöbaden to discuss the eutrophication problem and agricultural impact was High Level representatives of the governments of Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Germany, Latvia, Lithuania, Norway, Poland, Russian Federation, and Sweden. |
